One sure fire way to combat the blues is to find and maintain one’s own version of happiness. First question: How many times would you say you smiled today? Smiling always makes me laugh and feel joy when I’m finding myself blue or in a sticky spot. It instantly lifts my mood and lets me know everything is going to be alright. How do I know this you might ask? It is because I trust myself enough to get through any situation placed in my path. Second question: How many times have you smiled at someone else… someone you didn’t know? Smiling is everyone’s way of internally and externally showing love, connection and happiness. It says I know what you’re going through and you’re not alone! Happiness is a way of living and smiling is an expression of that choice. If you can’t remember the last time you smiled, you may need to go within and ask yourself why.
